The Julian Alps are in the North West corner of Slovenia and are part of the mountain border that forms the alpine crossroads between Slovenia, Italy and Austria. This mountain range includes the famous Triglav National Park, which centers around Triglav (2864m), the highest peak in Slovenia. The mountains are a wild landscape of limestone karst rock and are only an hour away from Ljubjlana airport.
The Triglav National Park and the Julian Alps are on the edge of the European alps and have their own unique character, both in geography and culture. It is a less well known region of the alps but it has a beautiful alpine landscape of stunning swimming lakes, wild mountains and warm Slovenian hospitality.
The pristine natural world of the Julian Alps enables us to travel through the dreamlike blue-green rivers and lakes, walk through ancient beech and pine forests, and climb up into the remote and rocky high alpine wilderness of the Triglav National Park.
